South Lynn Developments Ltd is a software development company specialising in content managed web site solutions. We use the latest and greatest version of Microsoft SharePoint. The 2010 version provides a great platform for Internet web sites as well as all the features that most companies need to run their business. SharePoint is a complex product and learning the ins and outs of it is a massive task. We are now into our third SharePoint installation, and although would not claim guru status, we are pretty confortable with the platform.

Until Microsoft in their wisdom prematurely killed it off,  we used Microsoft Content management Server 2002 for content managed sites. Whilst accepting that SharePoint goes way past what could be achieved with MCMS, we still have a soft spot for it.  We can still provide development support for MCMS sites.

We have also created some small cost effective sites. These have been based on a Microsoft framework called My Web Pages Starter Kit. This site is a good example, The site requires no database and  can be hosted on cheap shared hosting systems.

This site contains a collection of links to useful blogs, sites and articles that will help other developers with SharePoint and MCMS site development. The web is a wonderful source of information and the job of software development has been revolutionised in the last few years. No more is the solitary developer on there own when they want to do something or have a problem. Most topics have good examples on the web, provided by other developers.

Oh, and what has the header image to do with software development. Well nothing actually. One of our other passions is skiing and snowboarding. The image is a view from the Tignes piste called "La Leisse". Well what else would you expect from a software company?
